A turnover ceremony was held on 28 July 2023 for the donation of DMCI Homes of a 2000-kN Universal Testing Machine, laptop computers, and laboratory furniture which aims to enhance the performance of construction materials tests and experiments at UP ICE.
Present in the event are Engr. Alfredo Austria, DMCI president, and Engr. Alfonso Aliga Jr., Executive Director of UP ERDFI. The College of Engineering is represented by Dean and former ICE director, Dr. Maria Antonia Tanchuling.
Dr. Jose Regin Regidor, UP ICE director, gave an acceptance speech on behalf of UP ICE.
The donation is the latest from DMCI, which has a long relationship with UP starting way back through their patriarch the late David M. Consunji, who was among our most distinguished alumni. He was succeeded by his son Isidro Consunji who continues the company’s strong support to the College of Engineering.
UP ICE is very grateful to the generous support of DMCI for the advancement of our Construction Materials and Structures Laboratory (CoMSLab). We look forward to our continued collaboration!
