UP National Center for Transportation Studies

The UP National Center for Transportation Studies (NCTS) is a research center under the University of the Philippines Diliman. It was established on July 12, 1976, as then Transportation Training Center (TTC), to upgrade the capability of government personnel concerned with transportation through intensive and practical training in the fields of traffic engineering, planning and management. In 1993, TTC was renamed and is now referred to as the National Center for Transportation Studies (NCTS).

For over four decades, NCTS has worked in supporting academic instruction, promoting and conducting scholarly research and training, information dissemination, and other extension services in the field of transportation.

Currently, UP NCTS has the following advocacies:

  • Sustainable Transport 
  • Integrated Transport System 
  • Road Safety 
  • Institutional Development 

Some of the members of the Transportation Engineering Group and other academic groups of the Institute serve as affiliate research fellows of UP NCTS.
