Wind Tunnel Laboratory

The Wind Tunnel Laboratory building will be the center for research on wind engineering in the Institute. Its main function is to house a wind tunnel with a 2-m x 3-m test section, simulating wind effects on structures caused by strong typhoons. The testing area is separated from the offices using glass walls to allow guests to safely observe tests. It will also house other equipment that will be used for testing of structural components against severe wind loading. The Wind Tunnel Lab also has research and discussion rooms that will contain high-end computers for numerical simulation of wind flow using computational fluid dynamics.
