We are pleased to announce the online release of the Philippine Engineering Journal Vol. 44 No. 2, December 2023.
We are also proud to share that this issue features one research paper authored by Asst. Prof. Liezl Raissa Tan and Dr. Jaime Hernandez Jr., members of UP ICE Structural Engineering Group.
Their study, entitled “Development of the Damage Attribution Chart Identifying the Wind-Susceptible Building Component by Incorporating Fault-Tree Analysis into the Component-based Vulnerability Modelling Against Severe Wind – A Case of the Philippine Public-School Building”, develops a systematic framework that aids in determining the critical building component that leads to greatest overall structural damage. The output of this study can be used in optimizing building design or retrofitting recommendations against severe wind.
