We are proud to share that Philippine Engineering Journal June 2026 issue (Vol. 47, No. 1) features one research paper authored by Asst. Prof. Dominic M. Bautista, member of UP ICE Water Resources and Coastal Engineering Group, and Cesar M. Gapas Jr. and Engr. Marjorie T. David.
Their study, entitled “Wave Energy Resource Assessment Off the Coast of Miliga-biga Beach, Bulusan, Sorsogon by Prevailing Wave Modelling” evaluates the wave energy resource potential in the study area considering three different oscillating body wave energy converters (WEC). Results show that the waters off Miliga-biga Beach show promising potential for wave-generated electricity, especially during the Amihan season. The methodology applied in this research provides a template for future researchers or industries that are interested in wave energy harnessing.
