The UP Institute of Civil Engineering wishes our undergraduate and graduate students the best in their participation to the “Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research Tools in Schools (IDEERS)“, an International Shaking Table Competition (22-23 Sep 2023) hosted by the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in Taipei, Taiwan.
The testing of their earthquake resistant model structures will be held today, 23 Sep.

About IDEERS:
In order to promote earthquake engineering and seismic protection education and encourage students to participate in a creative scientific competition, a program entitled “Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS)” was held at the Taiwan National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in September 2023. This program is jointly organized by NCREE and National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs). Resuming this year, 2023, student teams from Taiwan and all around the world participated in this activity. The event was suspended in 2020 and 2021, and resumed for Taiwan universities in 2022.
