UP ICE congratulates the UP DIliman IDEERS 2023 Postgraduate team for bagging the following awards in the recently concluded 2023 Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) Competition:
– Structural Design Award
– Aesthetic Award
– Design Concept Exhibition Award
– Best Presentation
The postgraduate team is composed of UP ICE Teaching Associates and graduate students Ian-will Ibanez, Alyannah Terite, Marcus Karl Evangelista, and Albert Fibra Jr. (UPD Mechanical Engineering Department faculty member). They worked under the supervision of coaches Asst. Prof. Julius Rey Baniqued and Dr. Pher Errol Quinay.
We would like to thank UP Diliman, UPD College of Engineering, UP COE Ruby Jubilarians, and UP Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering for their support.
The goal of IDEERS is to design and construct, using specific materials and tools, the building model subjected to earthquake loads. The seismic responses were simulated using a shaking table located at the NCREE laboratory.
