Asst. Prof. Matthew Travis Alcantara and Engr. Helli-mar Trilles, UP ICE faculty members from the Geotechnical Engineering Group, participated in the 2023 International Training Courses on Geo-Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience held from December 11 to 18, 2023, in Taipei, Taiwan. The training was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering of National Taiwan University, the International Consortium on Geo-Disaster Reduction and the International Consortium on Landslides and sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan.
At the end of the training courses, the participants presented a final report on any real-world mitigation measures that use the theories and methods learned. Asst. Prof. Alcantara received the Best Performance Award, while Engr. Trilles received an Excellent Practitioner Certificate.
