UP ICE faculty members Asst. Prof. Rochie Amolato and Asst. Prof. Maxell Lumbera, and Dr. Joanna Resurreccion of UPD Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research recently published their paper entitled “Assessing Rainwater Harvesting Options in Teresa, Rizal: Incorporating User Preferences with Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis” in the ASEAN Engineering Journal.
Their paper aims to bridge the existing knowledge gap on residents’ preferences for alternative water systems by utilizing a multi-criteria decision analysis to incorporate the informed choices of rural residents in selecting a rainwater harvesting system that aligns with their needs and preferences. By investigating attitudes, perceptions, and potential practices related to rainwater harvesting, this study seeks to enhance the adoption of sustainable water solutions in the rural areas of the Philippines.
