We would like to congratulate Dr. Sandy Mae Gaspay, Associate Professor from UP ICE Transportation Engineering Group, for being awarded as runner-up for the Kelsian Sustainability Award at the 18th International Conference Series on Competition and Ownership in Land Passenger Transport (The Thredbo Series)!
She presented her paper entitled “Driving Change: Lessons on the Electrification and Modernization of Jeepneys in the Philippines” which she co-authored with Arse John Salison (ICE Alumnus), Varsolo Sunio, and Thomas Stringer.
The Kelsian Sustainability Award (established in 2022) is presented to the best paper with a sustainability focus. It is sponsored by Australia’s largest integrated multi-modal transport provider and tourism operator. In the poster photo, the award is presented by Clint Feuerherdt, Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer of the Kelsian Group.
The conference was held in Cape Town, South Africa from September 29 to October 3, 2024. It gathered over 140 delegates from 31 countries and 89 insightful presentations.
